General
- How long does VideoDrive keep videos for?
- Videos are kept until they've had 1 year of inactivity (no views), after which they are removed.
- How big can my video be?
- Up to 200 MB per video. If yours is bigger, compress it or cut it into parts.
- What formats can I upload?
- Most common video formats work: .mp4, .mov, .webm, .mkv, .avi, .wmv, .flv, .m4v, .3gp, .mpg. MP4 and WebM play in every browser, so those are your best bet.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Pick a video, wait for it to upload, and you'll get a link.
- Banned Content
- Do not upload: child sexual abuse material, viruses/malware disguised as videos, full movies or full episodes of TV shows, heavy gore, or anything that is illegal where you live.
- You cannot use VideoDrive as a free CDN for a commercial site (embedding our links on a site that runs ads or sells things) without asking first.
- Uploading any of the above gets your videos deleted and your IP blocked.
- But what if I really wanna upload [insert banned content]?
- The video is going to be deleted, and you're going to get banned.
- Why did my upload fail?
- Uploads sometimes fail when the servers are busy. Wait a bit and try again later.
- How can I support VideoDrive?
- Thanks! See the contact page.
Security
- What information do you keep?
- Your IP address is kept with your uploads for abuse handling. Normal access logs are wiped monthly.
- Does VideoDrive change my videos?
- No. Your video is a 1-to-1 copy of the file you upload. We don't re-encode it, compress it or strip metadata.
- What happens if my video gets a DMCA notice?
- If it's actually infringing, it gets deleted. Protip: don't post the link publicly on a forum.
